Human-Centric, Inclusive Communities: Interpersonal & Educational Leadership

Alongside my editorial career, I've spent two decades as a tennis coach at institutions including the Helen Rice Tennis School, and City Community Tennis, where I was a part of the team recognised with the Tennis Australia Award for Most Outstanding Inclusion Initiative. I've also tutored design theory at the University of Sydney.

These aren't separate careers — they're the same skill in different settings. My time coaching and teaching has made me preternaturally quick and accurate at reading people, building rapport, and creating conditions for honest, safe, and productive conversations. In practical terms, that means I'm effective in co-design workshops, stakeholder consultations, and any room where intellectual capability needs to land with warmth and clarity. My interpersonal skills aren't separate from my intellectual capability — they’re the delivery mechanism for everything I know.
